CAN YOU TAKE MY LOVED ONE TO HIS/HER DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS, GROCERY SHOPPING OR SOCIAL OUTINGS?

Yes, we can take our clients to their appointments in their own private vehicle or we can take them in our caregiver’s vehicle. There is an extra .565/mile charge if our caregiver uses his or her own vehicle. Our caregivers all have their own auto insurance and are bonded by CareBuilders at Home.

DO I HAVE TO BE HOME-BOUND TO QUALIFY FOR THIS SERVICE?

No you do not have to be homebound to receive our services, unlike home health care.

DO YOU HAVE BOTH HOURLY AND DAILY RATES FOR CAREGIVING SERVICES?

Yes, we have an hourly rate and a live-in daily rate based on the needs of the client.

DO YOU HELP VETERANS AND THEIR SURVIVING SPOUSES RECEIVE VETERANS’ AID AND ATTENDANCE BENEFITS? IF SO HOW DO I QUALIFY?

Yes, we work with a company named Veteran’s Care Coordinators who will assist you in acquiring and keeping your Veterans’ Aid and Attendance benefits current. You may apply for this benefit with a short questionnaire and find out within approximately 48 hours if you may possibly qualify for the benefit.

DO YOU WORK WITH LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE COMPANIES?

Yes, we work with many different long-term care insurance companies and would be glad to contact yours to see what type of documentation they require in order to cover our services.

DOES MEDICARE PAY FOR THIS TYPE OF SERVICE?

No, unfortunately, Medicare does not pay for non-medical provider services at this time.

DOES PRIVATE INSURANCE PAY FOR THIS TYPE OF SERVICE?

Some private insurance companies do pay for this service. Check with your individual insurance company to see if they cover this type of service.

IS IT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO HANDLE MY CAREGIVERS TAXES, INSURANCE AND BONDING?

No, our rate consists of our caregiver’s wages, payroll taxes, benefits, federal and state unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, and professional and general liability insurance. No money is ever exchanged between our clients and our caregivers.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS ON HELPING MY LOVED ONE WITH THEIR MEDICATIONS?

As a non-medical home health provider licensed by the Department of Aging and Disability Services we are only allowed to provide medication reminders after the medications are set up in pillboxes by the family, home health care, or hospice company.
